How to choose a software house or automation provider in two weeks
When choosing a software house at short notice, check: projects in similar processes, whether the provider starts with analysis and a small stage, who runs the project on the provider’s side, what maintenance looks like after launch, the code ownership model, and whether the solution will work without your IT department. Coblit answers these questions in the first 30-minute call.
Checklist: 8 questions for every provider
- Have you delivered projects in a similar process? Ask for specific case studies with the problem, solution and result — not just client logos.
- Where do you start? A good provider starts with process analysis and wireframes, not a ballpark quote.
- Can I start with a single stage? A small first stage limits the risk and shows what working together is like.
- Who runs the project? Ask about the project manager, UX/UI designer and testing — who is responsible for deadlines and quality.
- What happens after launch? SLA-based maintenance, monitoring, incident handling and further development. Many problems start when the provider disappears after go-live.
- Who owns the code? A licence or a transfer of the economic rights to the copyright — agree this before you start, as it affects the price.
- Will the solution work without our IT department? If you don’t have a technical team, the provider has to take on implementation and maintenance.
- How will you connect it to our systems? CRM, ERP, warehouse, accounting — integrations determine whether manual data re-entry disappears.
How it works at Coblit
We start with a 30-minute call about your process, then propose analysis and wireframes as a separate stage. We run the project from analysis to further development — details in How we work. We have more than 65 implementations, including in employment agencies, healthcare, pharma, e-commerce and the public sector — see our portfolio.
If your system was left without support by a previous provider, see taking over system maintenance and development.
